This year, in a winter full of ideas and news, where i have started the hotel Torino blog rich in with tips, ideas, suggestions, i have also tried tu surf through cooking blogs to have new ideas, new dishes to be included in our menù. Hotel Torino is a hotel that offers a large and rich breakfast buffet , but alsoour hotel focuses on the full board and half board, because our proximity to the private beach – only 30 meters far, makes it very comfortable to guests to return to the hotel for lunch or dinner or both ; a choice that allows our guests great savings.Hotel Torino means hotel for families with children , means cheap hotel and, following this wave, our full board becomes very advantageous compared to the bed and breakfast, especially considering the high prices applied by bars on the beach. The comfort, the convenience must be paid, it is right, but these 30 meters between the sun umbrellas and our dining room are just so insurmountable? Definitely not. And most of our guests choose to reserve lunch and dinner at the hotel.
And that’s why our customers often choose to book full board or half board, and often, I realize, young people themselves. And to keep promise to our Brand as a cheap hotel , we give so much importance to the menu and the variety of choices offered in the menù. Our food is always very varied, we offer a choice of menu with at least 4 first courses and 4/ second courses, with soups, macaroni , quiches, meat, fish, eggs, cold dishes. But the essential feature of our cuisine is that it is a home cooking. We are ready and greedy to try new dishes, but always on the wave of a home – made kitchen, on the wave of classic food, and on the wave of Italian tastes, sometimes a little revisited.
This year, listening to Radio Deejay, I heard of a man living in Treviso who spoke about his wife who followed the house, the three children and a cooking blog and, curiosity prompted me to visit her blog and to get in touch with this blogger, so close to Jesolo . The world of blogger has always intrigued me, I respect them greatly, and mothers bloggers excite me. I think they are creative women, who are able to fly out from the house walls , despite often of their living and working in the house or devoting much time to the family.
I have chosen to work with Chiara, whose blog is called ”The Cook in Yellow” , without knowing exactly why, guided by instinct, by a blow to the head when I heard her husband Randy speaking on the radio. This allowed me to meet them , and ” touch them ”, because it’s okay to be technological, but it’s also niceto move out from the web to reality, because we live in reality.Chiara called her blog ” The Cook in Yellow” because she loves spy, detective stories some of her recipes paraphrase the titles of spy novels.
And shifting through the blog pages and recipes, for this summer 2016 I have focused on some recipes , but , as i will go on reading Chiara’s blog, i will probably get some other recipes to try in our menù. Chiara’s recipes always taste of home, taste of a simple and genuine cuisine as she writes in the blog about the food she cook for her family and children .

And to vary the choice of omelettes proposed by our Chef, Chiara suggested to me the omelette with green beans and cream cottage cheese. Ingredients that we already use in our menu, but we never mioxed them in a tasty omelet. The cooked , boiled green beans, chopped and mixed with cottage cheese and eggs will give a new and richer taste to the omelet. Anddo not forget a little bit of mint in the compound . Vivien from the Stage to being a waitress in a 3 star Hotel in Jesolo

And now it is high time for Vivien to write about her job experience at Hotel Torino. She arrived two years ago to attend a stage from ‘Professional Institute Barbarigo in Venice, and even to Vivien, the same as Martha, I have asked to write something about her experience at Hotel Torino. From the stage, as Vivien is a really professional waitress, we have asked her to be part of our Staff.Vivien writes:     ” Well what about my experience at Hotel Torino? I really do not know where to start. It is a place that gets into your heart if you’re on vacation so imagine if you spend there a whole Summer season, even though working. Facing a whole Summer Season is not easy: the rhythms are fast and even if you like the work ,there are days when you feel you cannot face it . It is not easy to find a balance with the colleagues with whom you live, eat, work, go out also to have fun. It ‘a little bit like living together, there are negative days, days considered ‘down’ however balanced by good times and hilarious. You miss your home, because, by sure, you do not get the bus to go home and come back to work every day, but this long staying away from home, living with ‘colleagues often unknown’ is not easy for anyone.I happened to wake up in a bad mood (and who does not happen?), But then, working, starting the day with a coffee with the Hotel Chef, with His Assistant and with Giovanna, the day immediately changed into a better mood. . And then, during the day, I do not deny that many customers made me smile. In fact, at Hotel Torino I have learned that the customer becomes something more than a Customer, i do not dare to say that the Custome becomes a friend ( such an important word), but he does not remain a simple customer without a soul, without personality. No doubt, at school I was taught to treat Clients politely , but the relationship i have established with many People , my and their happiness to see each other season after season, the happiness to see their grown up children who jump to the neck and hug you,, well, it is a special relationship , a special feeling you can learn only in a Hotel which becomes a Home ….I do not deny that I have also found colleagues who have taught me a lot and also have become friends, and these relationships are often kept alive during Winter Time-. A daily coexistence is not simple, if we should make us war, it would be a slaughter!     The seasonal experience at sea is different from a much more regular job in a city Hotel, the season is a gap, but then you have to consider that you are in Jesolo and there are also chances for evening entertainment, while , I have to admit that i have give up to sun tanning : I have shamelessly betrayed it with the afternoon naps. At the end of the season I found myself paying to get sun lamps! Shame!     Working in a 3 star hotel by the sea is a ‘very different experience from the 4 star hotel in town, here you become more practical, faster, you learn to create a relationship with the customer, perhaps more human, and above all it is a job that teaches you to grow on your working level, but also on your human level and it is a job that give you the chance to test yourself, your resistance, your patience and your capability to stay away from home. It is a test for your strength and and a test learning new techniques, even to manage groups that I had never served before.     I will never forget this experience, because it is not so hard to fall in love with Hotel Torino and Jesolo ”     Vivien     And I add my thanks to Vivien: thanks for bringing us your elegance, your professionalism, your punctuality and your friendship. Giovanna:”My Job in a Hotel in Jesolo is a everyday defy to be 2.0”

After giving space to several people belonging to our staff , I think it is high time to tell my job experience , as i have been working for nearly twenty years at Hotel Torino.I did not start my job in tourism at  Hotel Torino, so my bases have been placed in other touristic places, but, certainly, in this hotel in Jesolo i have grown up and i have been given the gift of freedom .When I arrived at the hotel, everything was different, carpet, wooden reception desk, buffets quite simple, but in line with the running times , an old-fashioned website , no a booking on line, but the times maybe did not require them. Reservations fell from the sky in a certain way, it was enough to answer the phone, write a few data and, for the most demanding customeri had to, send a fax. The crisis had not gripped us yet, the world of the reviews had not yet peeped into our reality and Internet was still for few selected people.Can I make an observation that perhaps won’t be appreciated by the web fanatics? Those years were golden years, years perhaps less precise, easier, more money and therefore less hair or stakes in everyone’s eyes.Let’s say that i was wise enough to understand that Hotel Torino had potentialities, thanks to the position, and therefore I could increase the individual clients, not so many inherited by those who had preceded me. I risked a lot at first, eliminating a good number of groups in high season, but it was a successfull idea. I do not deny i lost lost a few nights of sleep!I was certainly helped by the owner, Dario, who, always very careful, realized he had to renovate the hotel. I remember the year I started my job, he took away all the green and red carpet (Oh my God!) that covered the entire hotel, including the dining room. In this way he gave a brightness to the hotel, and i will always thank Dario for it :my claustofobria was breathing, the new marble reception desk welcomed the Customers, so modern and innovative Vs the old wooden desk, so vintage and old-fashioned. And slowly, but continuously, every winter , the owner has changed something, fromthe room furniture , the tiles and sanitaryware in the bathrooms, led lights, countertops , convection ovens, and Hotel Torino, although still some flaws, has slowle turned up.Every winter, punctual, the Hotel presents to customers with a different make-up, with different nuances. Carefully reading the reviews, and listening to the customers themselves, Dario has worked to create shower box, perhaps, in my opinion (opinion heard), the biggest flaw of the Hotel. And this is the novelty for Summer 2016, at least for some roomsDario asked me one day: ” Can you tell me why some hotels appear first when searching in internet? ”. And from that day, fromt hat the question I started my real breakthrough work. From that question I knew I had to update myself, that the world was changing,more and more mails were arriving and I started studying, trying to understand the web.New web site, online booking system, our presence in the Ota as we call them , and our massive presence with social pages, and courses. My workstation is completely changed, from behind the desk, now i work behind the counter PC, I do not look at the fax anymore, poor old abandoned fax !This allowed me to stay on the wave, to insert myself in the changing world of tourism which now is very fast and, if you’re not there on the web, you disappear from the real world. You have to be there, you have to talk about yourself, you have to make the web talk about you, you must be a 2.0 hotel and the web is the point 0 of the truth. This thrills me, but i’m aso afraid of this chance to get world at your fingertips, but the web gives us endless possibilities.As Dario’s questions made me grow, so the first negative review hurt me, it hurted like hell, because it was a little bit (to me so much ) unfair … but it made me grow, made me realize that the Customer dissatisfaction should be managed even more carefully than in the past. Even if you’re right, you should breathe 20 times, you should think 200 times your answer and you always have to try the mediation , because the web gives you so many chances, information, even though sometimes unfairly, but, of course, the pros and cons are anywhere. But all this gave me greater ability to controll and manage my emotions and to become more positive. Sometimes ,sighing, I find myself wondering what else I can do if a customer is not satisfied, but I think clarity always repay you at the very end. I try to sell the hotel for what it is I try to maintain an intermediate line, correct and of great clarity. We live in a world full of scams, of tricks, and people are afraid, but we can not afford to cheat, to play games, because we are here with 4 floors on our heads, we can not escape, we can not run away in the night packing the hotel in a buggage. I do my best to keep up Hotel Torino Brand , I want to mantain its reputation, it’s almost like an adopted son to me .Manage this crisis, lower and lower profit margins, the constant updating of our presence on the web, portals, socials , the unbridled competition, is putting me to the test evrry day very seriously, I’m putting myself in the game, and every day I realize that I still have to learn.But everything has refined the way I do Hospitality: fundamental, and must be for everyone who works here, is the smile, the management of the customer in a serene and elastic, flexible timetable, so that for the season 2016 i wrote A press release on ” the total relaxed wake up at Hotel Torino . Marta Thoughts, from the school stage to Assistant Reception

In the blog I put the thought of Marta Hotel, which last year was with us as an intern, but this year has returned to be a great help to me.I copy what Martha wrote me, because they are words that fill me with satisfaction, because, despite the short time still available, I was able to convey some of my experience and my love for this work and some ‘trick’.” I’ve always been a very shy and reserved girl, in fact, when in 2014 the school offered me an internship in Jesolo was very undecided about what to do. I took it as a challenge to myself and in the end I accepted gladly. I chose a period of five weeks just to be able to learn as much as possible and to relate with so many people to become more confident. My work was at the desk of the Hotel Torino, a 3 star hotel in Jesolo… just the best way to start my change !! At the beginning it was not easy: I was in a new place where I knew no one, and I had no idea what I had to do; but fortunately I found people very willing to explain and to be close to me. I was always afraid of making a mistake, I fear that what I did was not right .. but with much satisfaction I saw that with the passage of time I learned more and more things and, sometimes, also arrived compliments. Every day I getting in relationship with many people, Italians and foreigners, and this led me to open myself, to speak and especially to put into practice the languages ​​I had studied in school. At the end of the experience I gained and view more than anything else I realized that I really like this job! Thanks to what I learned, this year the director Joan called me back to help during this holiday season and I gladly accepted this proposal. Instead of last year I was much more quiet, precise and sure of what I was doing. To date, over the season, I can say that accepting the internship led me to meet many people, to work with great colleagues, to find the job of my dreams and to change my way of being and to compare myself with others.
